Fine… let’s talk hair care…
So, I’ve been blessed with great hair, but I can sadly say it wasn’t always the case. Let’s bring it back 5 years ago when my hair was nothing but my next bleach and tone. It’s funny that you don’t know when things are spiraling till you hit rock bottom… and the day realized I did with my hair, was when my stylist refused to continue my regular visit, on the premise of “you might leave bald”.
So here it is my guide… to how I managed a successful rescue mission:
1- The most difficult one for most, leaving our hair alone! After my visit I decided to go cold turkey, meaning, no more bleach. Motto: growing to health. ✨
2- what you’re all here for, The Hair Care Routine: here’s my perfect cocktail.
The designated towel for your hair ! I found it being extremely gentle to my hair was key for my transformation. Incorporating a microfiber hair towel was a game changer. For one it’s lightweight, doesn’t tug on your hair and reduces frizz. These are all the things I noticed when I made the switch.
Brushes can be an interesting hunt, when trying to find the perfect brush you’re met with ridiculous prices, but are they worth it? Yes! Some! I found the Mason Pearson bore bristle and nylon brush was really that girl. Silky smooth and dangled hair - but there are many great alternatives that give the same results.
The importance of claw clips really dawned on me during my journey, finding something that won’t cause breakage and still keeps my hair out of my face was a must. These are some of the clips that really helped me.
Tip: Best style for hair health is a low bun and a hair clip🩵
3- The products:
That’s the deal: the full list of what in my vanity.
Don’t be overwhelmed, Hair care is a lot simpler than you might believe. Sure, all these products helped me achieve the hair that I have now- helped me keep it healthy, hydrated, detangled, and shiny. But you don’t need all of these products to achieve your goals.
Stick to a simple routine with an emphasis on Hydration. Hydration ensures that our hair doesn’t become brittle. Breakage is our enemy, so having at least some products to ensure peak hydration will be a game changer.
If you do plan on buying at least one thing from my ultimate list, I would recommend the Moroccan hair oil✨ For this without a doubt was the leading agent in my mission.
Tip: Applying hair oil on wet hair out of the shower!
Lastly, The whole process will take time, years. But remember, good things come to those who: have a good hair care routine.
